Club Membership
Club membership is an important part of joining the Riverton Aquanauts for swimmers participating in competitive squads or entering swim meets. It provides insurance cover while participating in club activities and gives swimmers access to competitions and development opportunities. For some RVA squad groups, competition is optional and Swimming WA membership may not be compulsory unless the swimmer chooses to compete.
The RVA portion of your membership helps support the day-to-day running of Riverton Aquanauts, including club administration, communication, equipment, club activities and member support.
If a member is under 18 years of age, it is compulsory for a parent/guardian to sign up as a “Parent/Guardian” member.
Families registering three or more swimmers, together with a Parent/Guardian membership in one transaction, receive a 10% discount on the RVA portion of the membership fees.
We are a KidSport approved club
Please note that pool entry is separate from Riverton Aquanauts club membership. Pool access is arranged directly through Riverton Leisureplex/City of Canning. For more information, please visit our Facilities & Pool Access page.
Targeted Club Meets
Each season, our club targets specific swim meets and our training is designed to prepare swimmers for events at these meets. Entries can be submitted for the targeted meets via My Swim Results.

Club Nights
Club Nights provide a great opportunity for you or your child to experience racing in a fun and inclusive environment. There are a variety of events to try ranging from 25m races to the longer 1500m races.
Club Nights are held once a month on Friday evenings. They are hosted at Riverton Leisureplex (long course) or Cannington Leisureplex (short course). Arrival is at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start.
We have technical officials present at all Club Nights making all times for financial Riverton Aquanauts members officially recognised.
Non-members are eligible to trial one Club Night, before being asked to join as a club member. The cost of Club Nights for non-members is $5 plus pool entry. In addition, a cost of $3 per event (up to a maximum of 3 events) is required. Swimmers who are trialling will be an exhibition swim and therefore their times will not be official.
Parents Note
Timekeeping Responsibilities
It is an expectation that a parent is present and available for timekeeping duties at any time within the duration of their child’s attendance at any meet, including Club Meets. While every effort is made to align timekeeping with the time your child is swimming, this is not always possible, especially for first and last slots of the day.
If you are unable to fill your allotted slot, please make EVERY EFFORT to arrange a swap with another parent.
In extenuating circumstances such as illness or where you don’t have contact details for another parent to arrange a swap, please contact our registrar.
